Edward Tulane is a toy rabbit owned and loved by a ten-year-old girl named Abilene. But Edward is very vain and only thinks of himself, never appreciating the love he receives from Abilene. He is dredged up by the net of a fisherman, who brings Edward home to his wife to clean up and keep.
